NorthStar Recycling Helps to Sponsor LEEF Gala
Mar 10, 2015

LEEF announced Northstar Recycling will be a sponsor of its 2014 annual gala at the platinum level.

“Northstar Recycling is a long-time LEEF sponsor, and we are very grateful to have their support this year at the platinum level,” said Candice Healy, foundation president. “This generous donation will enable LEEF to make teachers’ and students’ wishes come true as we can provide them with enrichment activities and tools needed to enhance their already rigorous curriculum.”

Northstar Recycling is among more than 40 gala sponsors and over 150 auction donors who are supporting this year’s gala.

The 13th annual gala will be held at Twin Hills Country Club on Nov. 1. The gala is the foundation’s primary fundraising activity and features live and silent auctions, food, and entertainment. Gala tickets and tickets to the 50-50 raffle may be purchased online by visiting goleef.org.

“We have been delighted to support LEEF over the years,” says Seth Goodman, CEO of Northstar Recycling, “and since sponsorships and donations are funneled directly to the classrooms through grants, we saw this as a win-win for our organization and everyone involved in this wonderful cause.”

The mission of the foundation is to create and maintain a fund for the benefit of Longmeadow Public Schools students. This fund provides grants, beyond the tax-supported budget, for innovative education and enrichment programs.

Our favorite time of year is once again upon us..our 2017 LEEF Grant Awards have been finalized and announced! Thanks to the tremendous support of our community and sponsors, specifically via our Annual Gala and Phoneathon, we were able to award $71,271 in grants for the 2017 school year! That makes for one of our most successful grant awards ever and the highest in recent years! A special thank you to our Grant Review Committee, which is comprised of current and former board members along with additional parent volunteers, all of whom donate a significant portion of their time to review grant proposals and collaborate with the teachers and administrators in all 6 of our Longmeadow Schools throughout the grant process. Since its inception in 2001, LEEF has worked tirelessly to raise and donate over 1.2 million dollars to fund sixteen years worth of grants for student enrichment by partnering with the exceptional staff and teachers of the Longmeadow Public School District. We continue to be extremely impressed with the enthusiastic response by both teachers and administrators and the quality of the proposals submitted. All proposals undergo an extensive evaluation process, including a full review by a committee and formal approval by the full LEEF board. These grants make a significant impact on the education of our students and we now look forward to seeing each grant implemented. ...
