Success Stories

  • Dan Albert

The students and teachers of the Longmeadow Public Schools are so fortunate to have LEEF. The organization's support for excellence and innovation in teaching has been incredible with our students reaping the benefits. It has been an absolute pleasure working with LEEF and I look forward to more. Thank you for all you continue to do to provide our students with excellence in education.

I am writing to thank LEEF for the generous technology grants that you have funded for the history department here at the high school over the past few years. Your continuous support has allowed us to equip nine out of ten of our classrooms with up-to-date projection technology that has revolutionized the way we teach. We can now seamlessly transition from lecture, to PowerPoint, to video clip all within the course of one lesson. What used to take a substantial amount of time regarding signing up for and the setting up of equipment now takes only seconds. The technology allows just one more vehicle for us as teachers to successfully link teaching history with what is going on in the world today. If a pertinent topic comes up in class discussion we can in moments find an applicable site or clip and immediately project it onto the screen. What was once a text only lecture can now be enhanced by images and clips to further facilitate student learning. Thank you again for listening to our needs and responding by facilitating an enhanced educational experience.

  • Maryellen Gallant 7th Grade Science Glenbrook Middle School

The seventh grade team and students would like to thank you for funding ourgrant for our smart board.  It is wonderful. I was finally able to use onetool for every part of the lesson and save it in my notebook for my studentswho were absent. I know the best lessons are yet to come.

  • Mark Cormier Chair, English Department Longmeadow High School

The grant has enabled the department to bring in the Education Director at Shakespeare and Co. in Lenox for a full day of professional development. Additionally, this renowned acting troupe will also perform Hamlet for the juniors and seniors at LHS in March and then work with the 12th graders in a post-performance workshop. We are excited about both of these opportunities and grateful to LEEF for making them possible.
